Red painter's tape for clean edges

This SHURTAPE PE 444 tape uses a red polyethylene film backing with a rubber adhesive. The roll measures 1-7/8 inches wide by 60 yards long and is 7 mil thick. It is designed to produce sharp paint lines and remove cleanly from surfaces without leaving residue.

Replaces standard masking tapes that bleed or tear

Unlike basic masking tapes, this product resists paint bleed-through and holds up to temperatures from 32 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. The jump is worth it when you need crisp edges on trim, windows, or walls and want a tape that releases cleanly after the job is finished.

Suits painters and DIYers doing interior

It works for anyone masking off areas for brush or roller application in the stated temperature range. Buyers who need a tape for delicate surfaces like fresh wallpaper or lacquer, or who require UV resistance for long-term outdoor exposure, should look at a different formulation.

Questions about this item

What surface width does the 1-7/8 in PE 444 tape cover per wrap?

Each wrap covers 1-7/8 inches across the surface, and the roll provides 60 yards of continuous length for long masking runs.

How do I apply the rubber-adhesive PE 444 tape so it seals cleanly without lifting?

Press the polyethylene film firmly onto a clean, dry surface at room temperature; the rubber adhesive bonds instantly, and skipping the pressure step causes edge lift.

When should I replace a roll of PE 444 tape used near the 160 °F limit?

Replace the roll if the backing discolours, the adhesive feels brittle, or the tape no longer conforms after exposure at the upper 160 °F range.
