Installation kit for SI-TEX autopilot

This kit provides the hydraulic hoses and helm fittings required to install a SI-TEX autopilot steering system. It includes two 30 inch high pressure hoses and one 30 inch low pressure hose. Both O.R.B and NPT helm fitting kits are supplied for direct connection.

Hydraulic lines and fittings

The flexible hoses route between the helm pump and the steering cylinder to transmit fluid power. High pressure lines carry steering effort while the low pressure line handles return flow. Included fittings allow secure, leak free connections at the helm without extra parts.

Questions about this item

How are the 30" high-pressure hoses routed during installation?

Connect the two 30" high-pressure hoses between the helm pump and the steering cylinder using the supplied O.R.B. or NPT helm fittings; the common mistake is overtightening the flare nuts, which can crack the fitting seats.

What maintenance will the 30" low-pressure hose require over time?

Inspect the 30" low-pressure return hose annually for cover cracking, abrasion or seepage at the crimped ends; replace it if the rubber feels hard or shows any fluid weeping.
