Sick M18 inductive sensor for industrial detection

The Sick IME18-05BNOZCOK is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor with an M18 × 1 thread and a 5 mm sensing range. It operates on 10–30 V DC supply voltage and provides an NPN normally-closed output. The short-body housing measures 50 mm in length with a 33 mm thread length, making it suitable for machine builders and maintenance engineers who need reliable metal detection in tight spaces.

Nickel-plated brass housing with IP67 protection

The sensor body uses nickel-plated brass with a PA 66 sensing face, rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. A 4-pin M12 male connector allows quick wiring in DC 3-wire configuration. Flush mounting lets the sensor sit level with surrounding metal, while the 1,000 Hz switching frequency supports fast cycle times on conveyors or automated stations.

Replaces larger or slower sensors in existing M18

This unit upgrades older M18 sensors that lack short-body dimensions or IP67 sealing, and it fits the same thread cut-out without re-tapping. The 4.05 mm safe sensing range and ±10 % temperature drift ensure consistent triggering across –25 °C to +75 °C. It is not for applications requiring PNP logic, NO output function, or sensing distances beyond 5 mm.
