The Sick VTE18-4P2912 is a cylindrical photoelectric proximity sensor that uses an energetic infrared LED to detect objects between three millimetres and one hundred seventy millimetres. It is built for engineers and technicians who need reliable presence detection on conveyors, packaging machines or assembly stations.

Mounts in an M18 thread with a two-metre PVC cable

The sensor fits a standard M18 by one millimetre thread and has a sixty point six millimetre housing length, so it installs in existing brackets without redesign. Its four-wire cable carries ten to thirty volt DC power and a PNP switching output, leaving the control cabinet free for other I/O modules.

Potentiometer adjustment and IP67 sealing

A two hundred seventy degree potentiometer lets the installer set the exact sensing distance on site, while the selectable light or dark switching mode adapts to changing target reflectivity.
