Product Identity

The SIEMENS BQ3B060 is a new miniature circuit breaker from the BQ series rated at 60 A and 240 V AC with three poles. It uses a bolt-on mounting style and a toggle actuator for installation in compatible Siemens panelboards.

Deciding Specification

The critical specification is the 10 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC which determines whether the breaker can safely clear a fault on the supply side. Buyers who need a higher short-circuit rating must select a different device.

Thermals Noise Power

Normal operation stays within a maximum ambient temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The lug terminals accept copper wire up to 4 AWG and aluminum wire up to 2 AWG. No active cooling or audible noise is produced during standard use.

Questions about this item

What does the 60 A rating mean when the breaker is installed in a panel?

It will carry up to 60 A continuously and trip on sustained overloads or short circuits to protect the connected wiring.

What does the 10 kA AIR rating at 240 V AC limit in practice?

It caps the maximum prospective fault current the breaker can safely interrupt to 10 000 A at 240 V AC.

What panel space and mounting style does the bolt-on BQ frame need?

It occupies three poles in a Siemens panelboard and bolts directly onto the bus bars.
