Extends USB data transmission up to 25 metres at 5 Gbps with a built-in power adapter and over-current protection
This USB 3.0 active repeater cable extends data transmission up to 25 metres beyond the standard USB limit. It supports transfer rates up to 5 Gbps and includes a power adapter for power-hungry devices. The cable is fully shielded for error-free transmission and features built-in over-current protection. Plug-and-play operation requires no driver installation.
Standard passive USB cables cannot reliably carry signals past a few metres. This active repeater bridges that gap when devices such as cameras, storage or industrial sensors must sit far from the host. The jump is worth it when the installation distance exceeds the normal USB working boundary and a powered hub is available for daisy-chain configurations. Note that two cables cannot be daisy-chained directly together.
Connect the cable between the host and the peripheral, attach the supplied power adapter and the link is active immediately. No software drivers are needed on supported operating systems. The most common issue is attempting to chain two repeater cables without an intermediate powered hub, which the design does not support. Ensure each cable in a daisy chain receives its own power adapter for stable operation.

Yes, the included power adapter must be connected for the active repeater to function and to supply enough current for power-hungry USB devices.
Connect the cable between host and device, then plug in the supplied power adapter; the step users skip is powering the adapter before linking the USB ends.
The built-in over-current protection guards the repeater circuitry from power surges, so the cable itself does not have a scheduled replacement interval.
