  • Pure copper conductors keep voltage drop low at 3 A
  • Flat profile slips through tight gaps without drilling

Two-pack 10 ft DC extension cords

This SIOCEN MU642 kit supplies two 10 ft power extension cables built with copper conductors and a white flat profile. Each cord carries a UL listing and is rated for 12 V at up to 3 A. The male and female ends both use a 5.5 mm outer by 2.1 mm inner barrel connector.

Suits cameras and LED strips needing extra reach

Installers who need to bridge a longer gap between a 12 V supply and a CCTV camera, IP camera, DVR or LED strip will find the flat cable easy to route through narrow gaps without drilling. Buyers whose devices use a different centre-pin diameter or a locking connector cannot use these cords.

5.5 mm by 2.1 mm barrel connector

The single specification that decides fit is the 5.5 mm outer and 2.1 mm inner diameter on both plugs. Measure the existing adapter tip before ordering; only equipment with this exact barrel size will connect securely.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm barrel connectors wear out and need replacement after repeated use?

The copper conductors and UL-listed connectors are rated for 3 A continuous current; normal insertions will not degrade the contacts, so no scheduled replacement is needed.

What is the first limit reached when the cable runs at its 3 A rating for long periods?

The 3 A current rating is the limiting factor; exceeding it would cause voltage drop and heating, so the load must stay at or below 3 A.

Does the flat copper cable get noticeably warm or draw extra power when powering a 12 V camera all day?

At loads up to 3 A the pure copper conductors keep resistance low, so the cable stays cool and adds no measurable power loss during continuous operation.
