Forensic light kit with 470 nm output

The Sirchie BLUEMAXX Amalgam Master Kit is a compact LED alternate light source built for crime-scene and laboratory use. Six regulated LEDs deliver a consistent 470 nm excitation band for evidence detection. The unit runs on three AA cells and can be used handheld, head-mounted or table-mounted. A regulated supply keeps output steady across the charge cycle.

Suited for examiners needing portable 470 nm

Investigators who require a rugged, battery-powered source at this wavelength will find the seven-mode switch and auto-shutoff practical. The kit is not for teams that need multiple wavelengths, mains-powered operation or higher output than six LEDs provide. Buyers who want integrated imaging filters should look elsewhere.

470 nm peak wavelength

The single specification that determines suitability is the 470 nm emission peak. If the examination protocol calls for this excitation band the kit matches it; if another wavelength is required the device will not serve.

Questions about this item

Does the 470 nm LED head run hot or make noise during an all-day scene exam?

Six LEDs with a regulated supply keep output steady without a fan, so the unit stays silent and only warm to the touch during extended use.

What must I already own to power the BMA100 kit in the field?

Three AA cells are the only power source; the kit includes no rechargeable pack or mains adapter.

Will the 470 nm output still reveal evidence when I pair it with my older orange barrier filters?

Yes — 470 nm excitation is the standard band for orange goggles and camera filters, so existing barrier gear works unchanged.
