Safer Blade Utility Knife

The SLICE 10490 manual retracting utility knife uses a finger-friendly ceramic blade that reduces laceration risk. Its edge lasts up to 11 times longer than traditional steel blades. The tool ships with a rounded-tip blade installed for immediate use. A familiar handle shape eases adoption for experienced users.

Three Position Manual Retraction

A manual slider locks the blade at three fixed cutting depths for varied material thickness. The fully retracted position secures the edge during storage and transport. No spring mechanism means the blade stays exactly where the user sets it. This design suits controlled, repetitive cutting tasks.

Onboard Spare Blade Storage

An integrated compartment holds one replacement blade inside the handle. This keeps a fresh edge accessible without a separate parts case. The ambidextrous design works for left or right-handed operators. Buyers needing auto-retract safety or multi-blade capacity should consider other models.

Questions about this item

How do I load the spare blade into the onboard storage of the 10490?

Open the handle compartment designed to hold one spare blade, place the rounded-tip blade inside, and close it securely so the blade stays protected until needed.

When should I replace the finger-friendly® blade on the 10490?

Replace the blade when the edge no longer cuts cleanly; Slice blades last up to 11 times longer than steel, so intervals are much longer than traditional knives.

What cutting depth does the third fixed position of the manual-retract slider provide?

The slider offers three fixed cutting positions for different tasks; the third position extends the blade furthest for the deepest cut the 10490 allows.
