SLICE 10491GR Retractable Utility Knife

The SLICE 10491GR is a tool-free retractable utility knife built for daily cutting tasks such as opening boxes, slicing packaging or trimming sheet materials. Its steel blade resists rust and corrosion, and the handle measures 6 11/16 in. long by 1 1/2 in. wide by 1 1/16 in. thick. A lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects backs the knife.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This knife suits warehouse staff, electricians, DIYers and anyone who needs quick, one-handed blade changes without extra tools. Buyers who want a fixed-blade knife for heavy prying, a snap-off blade for ultra-fine scoring, or a specialised insulated knife for live electrical work should look at other tools.

Deciding specification: tool-free blade change

The defining feature is the tool-free blade-change mechanism that lets you swap blades in seconds without a screwdriver or wrench. If your workflow demands frequent blade swaps to maintain a sharp edge, this mechanism keeps downtime low; if you rarely change blades, a simpler fixed or screw-lock knife may be adequate.

Questions about this item

Will the 11/16-inch blade extension on the Slice 10491GR work with standard utility-knife blades I already own?

The Slice 10491GR uses a proprietary ceramic blade, not standard steel blades. Your existing blades will not fit this knife.

How can I confirm the tool-free blade change is functioning correctly after first use?

Press the slider to extend the blade, then press the release button — the blade should retract fully and lock without any tools.

Does the Slice 10491GR package include replacement ceramic blades or only the installed one?

The box contains the knife with one ceramic blade installed. Additional Slice ceramic blades are sold separately.
