Two-computer DisplayPort KVM

This DisplayPort KVM switch lets two computers or laptops share one monitor and up to four USB 3.0 peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers or scanners. It supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and 3440 x 1440 at 144 Hz, with backward compatibility for lower resolutions. Switching is done via the front push-button or the included 1.5 m wired remote, and two-colour LEDs show the active system. The unit is driver-free and requires no external power supply for typical use.

Check your DisplayPort cables and USB ports

To reach 3440 x 1440 at 144 Hz you must use DP 1.4 cables on both computer inputs and the monitor output. Each computer needs one DisplayPort video output and one USB 3.0 Type-A port for the supplied 1.5 m cables. The switch provides four USB 3.0 downstream ports for shared devices; these are backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 peripherals. If you connect high-draw USB devices such as illuminated or mechanical keyboards, or if device recognition becomes unstable, the included DC 5 V charging cable must be attached.

Fits a dual-PC desk with one monitor

The compact 10.2 x 6.7 x 2 cm enclosure sits on the desktop and draws power from the host USB connections, freeing a mains socket. Two 1.5 m USB 3.0 cables and a 1.5 m wired remote are included, so the switch can be placed within convenient reach while the computers stay further away. Four downstream USB 3.0 ports consolidate keyboards, mice, printers, scanners or flash drives, reducing cable clutter. No software installation is needed, making it suitable for mixed-OS environments.

Questions about this item

What cables and accessories come in the box with the SMA 2-port DisplayPort KVM switch?

The package includes the KVM switch, two 1.5 m USB 3.0 cables, a 1.5 m wired remote, a charging cable and a user manual.

Which DisplayPort cable version do I need to reach 3440x1440 at 144 Hz versus 3840x2160 at 60 Hz?

Use a DP 1.4 cable for 3440x1440@144 Hz; standard DP cables handle 3840x2160@60 Hz and lower resolutions.

What does the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 rating mean for my keyboard, mouse and other peripherals in daily use?

The four USB 3.0 ports share up to 5 Gbps bandwidth, so keyboards, mice, printers and flash drives run at full USB 3.0 speed while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
