What it is and who it fits
The SmallRig 1859 is a new microphone shock mount designed for cylindrical on-camera mics between 15 and 40mm in diameter. A four-point suspension isolates handling noise while an adjustment knob sets the angle. It ships with a cold shoe adapter 1858 and four silicone support bands.
Diameter range decides the match
The mount accepts microphones from 0.59 to 1.57 inches across, covering models such as the Rode NTG series, Sennheiser MKE 600, and Audio-Technica AT897. If your mic falls outside the 15-40mm window, the suspension bands will not grip securely.
Quick to rig, watch the thread
The built-in shoe slides onto any camera cold shoe, while a 3/8"-16 thread at the base fits boompoles and universal hand-grips. Overtightening the adjustment knob can strip the threads, so secure it firmly but gently.

Questions about this item
How well does the four-point suspension isolate a 15–40 mm shotgun mic from handling noise when the rig is moving?
The four elastic bands hold the mic at four points so vibrations from the camera or boompole are absorbed before they reach the capsule, keeping low-frequency rumble out of the recording.
What does the built-in shoe and 3/8″-16 thread let me attach the mount to in practice?
The shoe slides onto any standard camera hot shoe or cage shoe, while the 3/8″-16 thread screws directly onto boompoles, pistol grips or top handles that use the same thread.
Will the 55 × 50 × 121 mm body and 73 g weight clear a compact camera cage and still balance on a lightweight boompole?
At just 73 g and 121 mm tall the mount adds minimal mass and height, so it fits between a cage top handle and the mic without shifting the centre of gravity on a light pole.
