Detachable 2.0 Soundbar for Desktop Gaming

The Smalody YXSM8020BT is a 2.0 configuration soundbar that delivers 10 watts of total power from two dynamic drivers. It connects via Bluetooth and draws power from a single 5 volt USB port, removing the need for a separate power brick. The unit measures 20.0 by 10.0 by 5.0 inches and weighs 0.839 kilograms, featuring integrated RGB lighting and touch controls.

Gamers Wanting Flexible Stereo or Soundbar Modes

This speaker suits users who want to switch between a combined soundbar for focused gaming audio and separated left or right satellites for movie stereo separation. The detachable design allows placement on either side of a monitor without extra cables. Buyers who require a dedicated subwoofer for deep bass, surround sound formats, or an optical input for console connection should consider other options.

Single USB Cable Carries Both Power and Audio

The defining specification is the combined USB power and AUX audio interface that eliminates a separate 3.5 mm audio cable and external adapter. One cable handles the 5 volt supply and the analogue signal, reducing desktop clutter and avoiding ground-loop noise. The frequency response reaches 18000 hertz, and the system includes touch-sensitive controls on the chassis.

Questions about this item

How long before the USB power cable or the Bluetooth module might need replacement?

The speaker draws power from a single 5.0 volt USB connection and uses Bluetooth for audio; both are solid-state with no moving parts, so no scheduled replacement is expected under normal desktop use.

What limits continuous playback at high volume?

The 10 watt total output and 18000 hertz frequency ceiling are the first constraints; sustained peaks will hit the amplifier’s thermal ceiling before the drivers reach mechanical limits.

How much heat or fan noise appears after hours of gaming?

There is no fan — heat is dissipated passively through the enclosure, so the unit stays silent and only warm to the touch during extended sessions.
