Interior file folders for hanging files

Smead 10229 interior file folders are sized to fit inside standard hanging folders without covering their index tabs. The 1/3 cut top tabs sit low enough to avoid interference with vinyl hanging tabs. Assorted tab positions let you use multiple folders in one hanging file. Each box contains 100 folders.

11 point stock and scored expansion

The folders are made from 11 point stock with a single-ply tab and an undercut front panel. They are scored for 3/4" expansion to accommodate thicker document sets. Wood used in production comes from a certified managed forest. The assorted colours include green, orange, red, sky blue and yellow.

Ideal for sub-dividing hanging files

These folders suit offices that need to separate paper groups inside existing hanging files. They are not suited for standalone filing in drawer rails or for users who require reinforced tabs, double-ply construction or fastener bases. Buyers needing legal-size formats should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often will the 11 point stock folders need replacing under normal office use?

The 11 point construction resists everyday handling; folders are replaced only when tabs tear or expansion creases wear out, not on a fixed schedule.

What limit appears first when the box of 100 folders is used continuously in a high-volume filing system?

The 3/4" expansion score sets the capacity ceiling; once a folder reaches that thickness the tab can no longer align with the hanging folder index.

Do the assorted-color folders generate any noise, heat or power draw when stored in a drawer all day?

No — they are passive paper products with no moving parts, electronics or power requirements, so they produce zero noise, heat or energy consumption.
