What this product is and who it is for

Smead 12043 file folders come in a box of 100 blue folders designed for letter-size documents. They suit offices, schools or home offices that need a simple way to sort and retrieve paperwork by colour. The 1/3 cut top tab provides a clear label area for quick identification.

How it behaves under sustained load

Each folder is scored for 3/4 inch expansion so it holds growing document sets without tearing at the crease. The blue stock resists fading during daily handling and long-term shelf storage. A full box supplies enough folders for high-volume filing projects that run over weeks or months.

Installation and common issues

Folders arrive flat and fold into shape in seconds; no tools or adhesives are required. The scored line guides a clean fold, but forcing the crease the wrong way can weaken the expansion pocket. Misaligned tabs may snag on adjacent folders if the drawer rails are bent or overcrowded.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 12043 folder generate when used continuously in a busy office?

The 12043 file folder is a passive paper product with no moving parts or electronics, so it produces no heat and makes no noise during all-day use.

What filing cabinet or hanging rail must I already own for these top-tab folders to work?

The 12043 folders fit standard letter-size drawers or shelves with a 1/3 cut top tab; they do not require hanging rails or special frames.

Will the blue 12043 folders match the color-coding of older Smead folders I already have?

The 12043 uses Smead's standard blue shade, which is consistent across their color-coded line, so it will match older blue folders from the same brand.
