Top-tab legal folders, red, 100-count

These legal-size file folders use a 1/3-cut top tab for clear label space. The red colour supports colour-coded filing systems in busy offices. Each folder is made from 11 point stock with a single-ply tab and rounded top corners. The undercut front panel keeps the tab visible when folders sit side by side.

Suited for high-volume legal filing.

The legal dimensions fit standard legal-width cabinets and shelves. Buyers organising letter-size documents will find these folders too wide for their drawers. The 100-count box serves departments that process large batches of paperwork daily. Offices needing only a few folders may prefer a smaller pack.

1/3-cut tab placement

The tabs sit in the top-third position, giving a consistent 1/2" tab height across the box. This layout matches many existing legal-file guides and index sets. Folders are scored for 3/4" expansion to accommodate thicker case files.

Questions about this item

Will the 1/3-cut tabs on the Smead 17743 folders align with my existing legal-size hanging file frames?

Yes, the 1/3-cut top tabs are standard for legal-size hanging frames and the 1/2-inch tab height fits typical rail spacing.

How can I confirm the 11 point stock folders will hold up to daily use after I load them?

Load a folder to the 3/4-inch scored expansion line; the undercut front panel should stay flat and the rounded corners should not crease or tear.

Does the box of 100 red folders include any tab inserts or fasteners, or must I buy those separately?

The box contains only the 100 one-ply top-tab folders; tab inserts, fasteners and labels are sold separately.
