Pressboard Classification Folder

Smead model 26810 is a pressboard end-tab classification folder built for high-volume filing systems. Each folder uses 25 pt pressboard covers and SafeSHIELD bonded fasteners on front, back and both divider sides. The six-section layout creates multiple filing surfaces inside a single letter-size folder. Sold in boxes of 10 folders.

Heavy-duty office filing

Offices that manage thick case files, project archives or regulated records gain the extra durability and subdivision capacity these folders provide. Environments that only need simple two-panel folders or light-duty manila stock will find the pressboard construction and six fasteners more structure than necessary.

Six-section capacity

The single specification that decides fit is the six-section design with fasteners on every panel and divider. Buyers who need fewer than six distinct filing surfaces or who prefer a folder without bonded fasteners should look at a different folder style.

Questions about this item

How do you install the SafeSHIELD bonded fasteners in the 6-section pressboard folder, and what step is most often missed?

Align each fastener through the pre-punched holes on both divider sides and press until the bonded coating clicks; the step most often missed is pressing both fastener wings simultaneously so the shield locks on both panels.

What maintenance or replacement will the 25 pt pressboard classification folder need over time?

The SafeSHIELD bonded fasteners resist crinkling longer than standard prongs, but if a fastener bends or a divider tab tears, replace only that divider — the cover and remaining five sections stay intact.

What limit appears first when the 10-count box of end-tab folders sees daily high-volume filing?

The 25 pt pressboard edges handle heavy loads, yet the first limit is fastener fatigue — after thousands of inserts the bonded coating can wear, causing papers to slip before the cover shows stress.
