Letter-size manila folders with reinforced tabs

These Smead 34117 end-tab folders measure 9.5"H x 12.24"W and use 11 pt. manila stock with 10% recycled content. The straight-cut tabs are reinforced with Shelf-Master construction for added strength at the binding edge. Each folder includes two patent-pending safeSHIELD coated fasteners designed to reduce paper tears and finger cuts. Labels are sold separately.

Offices using end-tab shelf filing systems

The end-tab layout suits shelf-based filing where the tab reads from the side of the folder. Buyers who need top-tab folders for drawer cabinets should look elsewhere. The 50-count box supports high-volume filing but may exceed the needs of a small home office. Fasteners are fixed; folders without fasteners are not this product.

Two safeSHIELD coated fasteners per folder

The coated fastener technology is the specification that determines whether this folder protects documents and hands during frequent handling. Uncoated fasteners can crinkle paper and cause cuts, which this design addresses. If your filing workflow does not use fasteners, the coating adds no value.

Questions about this item

What does the straight-cut tab on these manila folders mean for labelling?

The straight-cut tab runs the full width of the folder so a single label spans the entire tab without staggered offsets.

What dimensions should the shelf or drawer have to fit the 9.5 by 12.24 inch letter-size folders?

Allow at least 9.5 inches of vertical clearance and 12.24 inches of front-to-back depth for the folders to sit flat.

How do the two safeSHIELD coated fasteners install without tearing papers?

Press each coated fastener through the pre-punched holes and fold the prongs flat; the coating prevents paper tears and finger cuts during fastening.
