Legal box-bottom folders for bulky records

These Smead 64379 folders fit legal-size documents and expand up to three inches to hold thick manuals, catalogs or project files. A reinforcement strip keeps the sides from bulging when the folder is full. The standard green colour provides quick visual identification in a busy filing system. Each box contains 25 folders ready for immediate use.

Upgrade from standard flat folders

Flat folders cannot accommodate thick bound documents without tearing or misfiling pages. The box-bottom design adds structured depth so bulky records stay upright and aligned. The jump is worth it when you regularly archive manuals, large catalogs or multi-section reports that exceed the capacity of ordinary hanging folders.

Suits offices and archives with heavy legal files

Legal departments, compliance teams and records rooms that store thick bound volumes will benefit from the extra expansion and reinforced sides. Buyers who only file loose sheets or letter-size paperwork will not need the added depth. Tabs and inserts are not included, so users who require pre-printed labels should plan a separate purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 3-inch expansion fit inside a standard legal-size hanging file drawer?

The folders are built for legal-size drawers and expand up to 3 inches, so they occupy the full depth of a standard legal hanging rail when fully loaded.

Do I need to buy separate tabs and inserts for the 64379 folders, or are they included in the box?

Tabs and inserts are not included with the standard green folders; they must be purchased separately and slid into the built-in tab slots.

How often should I replace the reinforcement strip on these folders if I keep them fully expanded?

The reinforcement strip is a permanent part of the folder construction and does not require periodic replacement under normal office use.
