Side-opening pressboard report cover

The Smead 81251 is a side-opening pressboard report cover designed for letter-size documents. It uses a prong fastener to bind presentations, reports, manuscripts and proposals in a loose-leaf format. The two-piece cover compresses material tightly to reduce bulk. Matching Tyvek hinges provide a professional appearance and assist with colour coding.

Two-piece compression limits

The two-piece style compresses the document stack to keep the profile slim, yet the pressboard construction sets a practical ceiling on how many sheets can be held securely. A fastener compressor locks the contents without damaging the paper or the binder hinge. Excessive thickness will prevent the prongs from closing properly and strain the hinge.

Prong fastener capacity

The prong fastener is the single specification that decides whether this cover suits a project. It only accepts documents pre-punched with holes spaced 8 1/2 inches centre-to-centre. Buyers whose pages use a different hole pattern or who need ring-binder compatibility cannot use this cover.

How does the two-piece pressboard cover perform when binding a thick report?
