USB4 cable for Thunderbolt 4 devices
This 1.5 ft braided USB C to USB C cable implements the USB 4.0 specification at 40 Gbps. It is built for owners of Thunderbolt 3 or 4 laptops, docks and high-speed SSDs who need full bandwidth and power in a short run.
40 Gbps ceiling and DisplayPort Alt Mode requirement
The link tops out at 40 Gbps and falls back to USB 3.2, 3.1 or 2.0 speeds when connected to older hosts. Video output only works if the source USB C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode; without it the display pins stay inactive.
240 W charging and 8K single or dual 4K headroom
The cable carries up to 240 W, replacing earlier 60 W and 100 W limits for demanding laptops. It drives one 8K 60 Hz panel or two 4K 60 Hz panels simultaneously, but cannot exceed the 40 Gbps aggregate bandwidth or the host's own display-controller limits.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 1.5 ft length or a longer version for my setup?

How does the USB 4.0 interface limit charging and display output in practice?
The USB 4.0 connection caps power at 240 W and drives one 8K 60 Hz or dual 4K 60 Hz displays when the host supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
