Converts idle mSATA or M.2 SATA SSDs (2230/2242/2260/2280) into portable USB 3.0 storage with a built-in mode switch and included USB-SATA cable
This USB 3.0 adapter accepts full or half-size mSATA SSDs and B-key or B+M-key M.2 SATA modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. A hardware toggle selects which slot is active so only one drive operates at a time. It is aimed at users who want to repurpose spare laptop SSDs as portable external storage for data recovery or file archiving.
The connection tops out at USB 3.0 5 Gbps with UASP acceleration for faster file backup and disk cloning. SATA SSDs capable of higher throughput will be bottlenecked by this ceiling. Hot-swap is supported on Windows, Mac OS and Linux without extra drivers, but the link speed remains the hard ceiling for every attached drive.
Only one drive — either the mSATA or the M.2 SATA device — can be accessed at once because the mode switch physically disconnects the inactive slot. Buyers who need simultaneous access to two SSDs cannot use this adapter for that purpose.

The adapter has a toggle switch; use the mSATA slot for full or half-size mSATA SSDs and the M.2 slot for B or B+M key SATA drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 lengths. Only one drive operates at a time.
The USB 3.0 link runs at up to 5 Gbps with UASP acceleration, so a SATA SSD will hit its native sequential read and write ceiling rather than being limited by the adapter.
USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps matches the practical throughput of a SATA III drive, so the adapter does not bottleneck typical mSATA or M.2 SATA SSDs during cloning or backup.
