4-Pack DB9 Male-to-Male Coupler

This four-pack of DB9 male-to-male gender changers joins two female-ended RS232 serial cables together. It suits technicians and engineers who extend serial wiring in industrial, office or monitoring environments.

Solderless Tool-Free Installation

Each coupler uses a solderless, tool-free design so connections are made by hand without extra equipment. The standard DSUB 9-pin pinout matches the universal RS232 interface, reducing wiring errors during quick field assembly.

Extends Serial Links for 232 Equipment

The adapters reliably pass serial data between PLCs, modems, POS terminals and industrial controllers. They are not suited for builders who need female-to-female conversion or for installations that require shielded or right-angled connectors.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the RS232 link is active after connecting the gender changer?

Check that data flows between the two serial devices — for example, the PLC or modem shows a valid handshake and the terminal software receives expected characters without framing errors.

What comes in the package and do I need any extra parts?

The box contains four solderless DB9 male-to-male couplers; no additional cables or tools are required because each unit joins two existing female-ended RS232 cables directly.

Which of the four couplers should I use for my PLC or POS terminal?

All four are identical — each follows the standard DSUB 9-pin RS232 pinout, so any one will work with PLCs, modems, POS devices or other serial equipment.
