4×1 HDMI 2.0 switch with audio extraction

This SMUGDESK unit routes four HDMI sources to a single display at up to 4K resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR and remains compatible with 1080p, 720p and 3D signals. An integrated audio extractor provides SPDIF coaxial, 3.5 mm analog and ARC return-channel outputs. The design suits home-theatre enthusiasts and small meeting-room setups who need to manage multiple consoles, streamers or players without constant cable swapping.

Sustained 4K 60 Hz signal integrity

The HDMI 2.0 compliant circuitry maintains stable video transmission during extended sessions. Built-in equalisation and anti-interference processing reduce attenuation, flicker, colour shift and audio-video sync drift over longer cable runs. HDCP 2.2 encryption handling ensures protected content streams without interruption. The switch is built for continuous operation in living-room or conference-room environments rather than brief demonstration loops.

Upgrade from basic HDMI selectors

This model replaces simple passive switch boxes that lack audio separation or ARC support. The jump is worthwhile when you need to feed a soundbar or AV receiver via optical, coaxial or 3.5 mm connections while keeping the TV link intact. It also solves setups where the display must send internal app audio back to an external audio system. Buyers who only require bare video switching without any audio breakout will not benefit from the added extraction hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the 4K@60Hz HDMI 2.0 switch generate noticeable heat or fan noise during all-day use?

The unit is a passive HDMI 2.0 switch with no internal fan, so it runs silently and produces only minimal warmth during continuous operation.

Which cables and audio gear must I already own to use the SPDIF coaxial, 3.5mm jack and ARC outputs?

You need four HDMI source cables, one HDMI display cable, plus either a coaxial digital audio cable, a 3.5mm stereo cable or an ARC-capable HDMI cable to your sound system.

Will the HDCP 2.2 switch pass 1080P and 720P signals from my older PS3 and DVD player without downscaling?

Yes, the HDMI 2.0 switch is fully backward compatible with 1080P, 720P and 3D video, so legacy sources display at their native resolution.
