SMUGDESK 6-in-1 USB-C Hub Silver 2016 2017 13 15

SKU CH-42GV-9H7XV

Six-port hub adds 4K HDMI, twin USB 3.0 ports, SD and MicroSD slots plus pass-through charging to 2016 and 2017 MacBook 13 and 15 models

Color Silver

  • Expands legacy MacBook connectivity with six integrated ports
  • 4K HDMI output extends display for dual-screen productivity
  • USB-C PD pass-through keeps MacBook charged while hub is active
  • Dual USB 3.0 ports transfer data from drives and peripherals
  • Built-in SD and MicroSD reader imports photos and videos directly

Tailored for 2016 and 2017 MacBooks

This 6-in-1 USB-C hub is purpose-built for the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook models released in 2016 and 2017. It expands the single port into HDMI video, two USB 3.0 sockets, SD and MicroSD card slots, plus a USB-C power delivery pass-through. The aluminium shell matches the MacBook finish and requires no driver installation.

Suits mobile creatives and office users

Photographers, designers and presenters gain 4K HDMI output for external displays and fast card offload via the integrated SD/MicroSD reader. Peripherals such as mice, keyboards and external SSDs connect through the dual USB 3.0 ports. Users with newer MacBook models, different port layouts or a need for additional USB-C data lanes should look at other hubs.

Single USB-C port with PD pass-through

The hub draws all data, video and power from one USB-C connection on the MacBook while the PD port forwards charging current to keep the laptop powered. This single-port dependency is the deciding factor: if your workflow demands simultaneous charging and expansion without occupying the only port, this hub fits; otherwise it will not.

Questions about this item

Will the SMUGDESK 6-in-1 USB-C Hub work with my 2016 MacBook 13-inch?

Yes, the hub is tailored for 2016 and 2017 MacBook 13 and 15 models, so it connects directly to the USB-C port on your 2016 13-inch machine.

How can I verify the 4K HDMI output is functioning correctly after setup?

Connect an external display via the HDMI port; if the MacBook detects the screen and you can mirror or extend the desktop at 4K resolution, the video link is working as intended.

What comes in the box and do I need any extra cables or adapters?

The package contains the 6-in-1 hub itself with integrated HDMI, two USB 3.0 ports, SD and MicroSD slots, and a USB-C PD pass-through port; no additional cables or adapters are included.
