8K DisplayPort 1.4 cable 16.4 ft

This 16.4 ft DisplayPort cable carries up to 8K resolution at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz. It meets the DP 1.4 specification with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth and is backwards compatible with DP 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1. The link suits desktop PCs, gaming monitors and projectors that use a full-size DP connector.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive copper cable it generates no heat and draws no external power. The triple-layer shielding on 26-30 AWG solid copper conductors prevents signal interference without active electronics. Gold-plated contacts and an aluminium alloy shell maintain low contact resistance over repeated mating cycles.

Nylon braid and gold connectors

The cotton-nylon braided jacket resists abrasion and is rated for over 10000 insertion cycles. 24K gold-plated pins and a reinforced aluminium shell protect the connector from corrosion and mechanical stress. No software or driver is required; the cable works immediately on any DP 1.4 source and sink.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 16.4 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable, and what step do people often miss?

Connect the gold-plated DP male plugs firmly into both the GPU and monitor ports until the latches click; the step many miss is verifying the monitor OSD is set to the DisplayPort 1.4 input so the 32.4 Gbps link trains at 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz.

What maintenance or replacement will the cable need later?

The nylon-braided jacket and 24K gold-plated connectors are rated for 10000+ insertions; no routine maintenance is required, but replace the cable if the latches break or intermittent signal appears after heavy re-plugging.

What limit appears first under sustained gaming use?

The 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth ceiling; driving 8K 60 Hz with HDR10 and 32 audio channels uses the full pipe, so DSC 1.2 compression must stay active or the link will drop to 4K 120 Hz.
