  • Supports 8K resolution at 60Hz for ultra-sharp visuals
  • Delivers 4K at 144Hz for smooth high-refresh gaming

8K Fiber Optic DisplayPort Cable

This 16-foot DisplayPort 1.4 cable uses fiber optic construction to deliver 8K resolution at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz without signal boosters. The optical design resists electromagnetic interference better than copper equivalents. It targets gamers and professionals who need long runs to high-refresh displays or VR headsets. Buyers needing copper flexibility for tight bends should look elsewhere.

Bandwidth and Resolution Headroom

Rated at 32.4 Gbps, the cable handles 8K@60 Hz and 4K@144 Hz with full HDR10, 3D and 32-channel 1536 kHz audio. It remains backward compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and lower resolutions such as 1080p. The link saturates at the stated bandwidth, so multi-stream 8K configurations or future 8K@144 Hz modes exceed its capacity.

Directional Connector Requirement

Each end is marked Source or Display and must be plugged into the correct device. Reversing the connectors breaks the link because the optical transceivers only operate in one direction. This single constraint decides whether the cable works in a given installation.

Questions about this item

Will the 16-foot fiber cable still deliver 8K 60 Hz from an older DP 1.2 graphics card?

The cable is backward compatible with DP 1.2, so it will carry whatever resolution and refresh rate that older port supports, up to the cable's 32.4 Gbps limit.

How can I verify the link is running at 32.4 Gbps after plugging it in?

Check the display settings on your GPU control panel or monitor OSD; they will report the active link rate and resolution such as 4K 144 Hz or 8K 60 Hz.

Does the box include only the cable or are adapters and power supplies also supplied?

Only the DisplayPort 1.4 fiber cable with 24K gold-plated connectors and TPE jacket is included; no external power adapter or extra adapters are provided.
