10 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K workflows

This SMUGDESK cable carries DisplayPort 1.4 signals over a 10 ft silver braided run. It is built for users who need 8K at 60 Hz with 10-bit HDR or high-refresh 4K and 2K gaming on compatible GPUs and monitors.

Bandwidth ceiling and compression at 32.4 Gbps

The HBR3 link tops out at 32.4 Gbps, so uncompressed 8K 60 Hz 10-bit HDR fits only with DSC 1.2 visually lossless compression. Without DSC the same bandwidth limits you to lower resolutions or refresh rates such as 4K 144 Hz or 2K 240 Hz.

Replaces older DisplayPort cables that cap at HBR2

If your current cable is limited to DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.3 you lose 8K 60 Hz, 4K 144 Hz and 2K 240 Hz support. The jump is worth it when your GPU and monitor both offer DisplayPort 1.4 and you need those higher modes.

Does the DisplayPort 1.4 connector limit refresh rates at 4K?

No, the HBR3 link supports 4K at 144 Hz and 2K at 240 Hz, and it remains backward compatible with 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1 ports.
