IEC 60320 C8 to C7 Power Extension Cable

This SMUGDESK cable extends a standard figure-8 C7 power port by 30 centimeters. It connects a C8 male plug to a C7 female receptacle, matching the interface found on many laptop power adapters, monitors, printers and small household electronics. The compact design suits tight installation spaces where a full-length cord would be excessive. It is not for buyers who need a longer reach or a different connector standard.

Decisive Specification: 30 cm Length

The 30 cm length is the single specification that determines whether this part fits the build. It provides just enough slack to bridge a small gap between a device inlet and a nearby socket or power strip. A longer cable would add unwanted bulk; a shorter one would not close the distance. Verify the required gap before ordering.

Installation and Common Issues

Installation is a simple push-fit: insert the C8 plug into the power source and the device C7 inlet into the female receptacle. Molded connectors give a firm seat that resists accidental disconnection. The main issue is ordering the wrong gender or length; confirm the device uses a C7 figure-8 socket and that 30 cm covers the needed distance.

Questions about this item

What does the 30 cm length mean once the cable is plugged into a laptop adapter?

The 30 cm extension adds just enough reach to bridge a small gap between a wall socket and the adapter without leaving coils of excess cable on the desk.

What does the IEC 60320 C8 to C7 connection cap in practice?

It matches the standard figure‑8 interface used by most notebook power bricks, monitors and small electronics, so the cable carries whatever current the attached power supply is rated for.

What does the cable need to fit or mount in a typical setup?

A C7 figure‑8 inlet on the device side and a C8 plug on the power‑supply side; the moulded connectors lock together securely and require no extra brackets or tools.
