SKU CH-W993-K47XP

Connects Mini DisplayPort and DisplayPort 1.4 devices for 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz in both directions with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth

  • Bi-directional link connects Mini DP laptops to full-size DisplayPort monitors and vice versa
  • 4 Gbps bandwidth drives 8K 7680×4320 at 60 Hz for ultra-sharp video
  • High refresh rates up to 4K 144 Hz and 1080p 390 Hz smooth fast-paced gaming
  • Gold-plated connectors with aluminium shells resist corrosion and withstand repeated plugging
  • Cotton-braided PVC jacket adds durability and a tidy, waterproof finish

Mini DisplayPort 1.4 cable for 8K 60 Hz

This 1-metre cable connects Mini DisplayPort sources to standard DisplayPort displays or the reverse. It supports bi-directional video transmission and works with Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 ports on compatible laptops. The link is rated for up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth.

Gold-plated connectors and braided jacket

Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and maintain signal integrity over repeated insertions. A cotton-braided PVC outer layer adds flexibility and water resistance. An aluminium shell protects the connector housing from physical stress during daily use.

DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth ceiling

The 32.4 Gbps ceiling limits 8K output to 60 Hz and 4K to 144 Hz; higher refresh rates at those resolutions are not possible over this standard. Bi-directional use requires the Mini DisplayPort monitor port to support video-out, which many Mini DP panels do not. Thunderbolt 3 or newer features are unsupported.

Questions about this item

How long will the gold-plated connectors and braided jacket last before they need replacing?

The gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and the cotton-braided PVC jacket is waterproof, so the cable itself has no scheduled replacement interval under normal use.

What resolution and refresh-rate ceiling hits first when I run this cable at its maximum 32.4 Gbps bandwidth all day?

The link tops out at 8K 7680×4320 at 60 Hz or 4K 3840×2160 at 144 Hz, so 8K 60 Hz is the first hard limit you reach.

Does the cable get warm or draw extra power during continuous 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz operation?

The cable is passive with no active electronics, so it adds no measurable heat or power draw beyond the signal itself.
