SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK Thunderbolt 4 USB 4 Cable 3.3 Ft 40Gbps 240W 8K 60Hz

SKU CH-X5B7-D5KC2

A 3.3 ft USB-C cable delivering 40 Gbps data, 240 W charging and single 8K or dual 4K 60 Hz video

Cable Length 3.3 Feet

  • Charge at up to 240W with a compatible charger
  • Drive a single 8K display at 60Hz or dual 4K at 60Hz
  • Transfer data at up to 40Gbps between capable devices
  • Thunderbolt 3 and 4 compatible for broad device support
  • 3 ft length suits desktop and dock setups

Thunderbolt 4 USB 4 Cable

This 3.3 ft cable delivers up to 40Gbps data transfer and supports 240W power delivery at 48V/5A. It handles single 8K 60Hz or dual 4K 60Hz video output for demanding display setups. The cable is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 devices including laptops, docks and eGPU enclosures.

Replaces slower USB-C cables

The 40Gbps bandwidth suits users moving large media libraries or driving high-resolution external monitors where 20Gbps links fall short. Upgrading makes sense when your host, charger and display all support the full Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 specification. Older 10Gbps or 20Gbps cables will bottleneck both data throughput and charging speed in these scenarios.

Limited by host port capabilities

Real-world data rates drop to 20Gbps on USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and reach 40Gbps only on Gen 3 or Thunderbolt 4 hosts. The 240W charging ceiling requires a matching 48V/5A power source and a device that accepts that profile. Video output beyond 4K 60Hz per stream is not possible regardless of cable length or quality.

Questions about this item

What length is the SMUGDESK Thunderbolt 4 cable and does it need any special clearance?

The cable is 3.3 ft long with standard USB-C connectors on both ends, so it fits any USB-C port without extra clearance or mounting hardware.

How do I connect the cable to reach 40 Gbps and 240 W charging?

Plug each USB-C end into a Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 port that supports 40 Gbps Gen3 and 48 V / 5 A power delivery; using a Gen2 port limits bandwidth to 20 Gbps.

Will the cable degrade or need replacement if I run 240 W charging daily?

The cable is rated for 48 V / 5 A continuous operation, so daily 240 W charging stays within its design limits and does not require scheduled replacement.
