4×2 Matrix Switch for Multi-Source AV Distribution

The SMUGDESK Torpedo Nova is a new 4×2 HDMI matrix switch built for home-theatre enthusiasts, office multi-screen setups and conference-room installs. It accepts four HDMI 2.0 sources and routes them independently to two displays or mirrors one source to both screens. Dual audio extraction via optical SPDIF and 3.5 mm jack lets you feed separate sound systems without extra adapters.

Fits Standard HDMI 2.0 Chains

Connect up to four 4K@60Hz sources such as consoles, laptops or media players directly to the four inputs; the two outputs drive displays or projectors at full 18.2 Gbps bandwidth. HDCP 2.2 compliance prevents handshake failures with protected content. Sixteen EDID presets resolve compatibility mismatches between varied sources and sinks. Front-panel buttons and an IR remote give instant switching without software or drivers.

Passive Aluminium Cooling Keeps Operation Silent

An aluminium alloy housing dissipates heat without fans, so the unit runs silently in rack or desktop positions. Power draw stays low during typical 4K@60Hz HDR matrix or splitter operation. No external cooling clearance is required beyond normal ventilation around the chassis.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth ceiling limits sustained 4K60 HDR throughput on the Torpedo Nova?

The switch handles 18.2Gbps full bandwidth, which is the HDMI 2.0 limit for 4K@60Hz HDR without compression.

How loud or hot does the unit get when running all day?

The aluminium alloy housing dissipates heat passively with no fan, so it runs silently and stays at a safe temperature during continuous use.

Which audio gear must I already own to use the extracted sound outputs?

You need either an optical SPDIF input on your receiver or soundbar, or a 3.5mm analogue input for powered speakers or headphones.
