SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK USB 3.0 to mSATA SSD Enclosure 30×50mm Aluminum UASP

SKU CH-PNCK-R7BYK

Converts a 30×50mm mSATA SSD into portable USB 3.0 storage with UASP acceleration and aluminum cooling

  • Turns idle 30×50mm mSATA SSD into portable storage
  • USB 3.0 with UASP reaches 5Gbps for fast transfers
  • Aluminum shell dissipates heat to prevent throttling
  • Plug-and-play bus power needs no driver or adapter
  • Works with Windows 11 10 8 7 XP macOS Linux

Designed for full-size 30×50mm mSATA SSDs

This enclosure converts a standard full-size 30×50mm mSATA solid-state drive into portable external storage. It accepts only that exact form factor and will not work with M.2 or Mini PCI-E modules. The USB 3.0 Gen1 interface with UASP support suits users who want to reuse an idle mSATA SSD for everyday file backup and data transfer.

Check your drive form factor before ordering

Verify that the SSD you intend to install is a full-size mSATA unit measuring 30×50mm; any other size or keying will not fit. The enclosure draws power directly from the host USB port, so no external adapter is required. It operates plug-and-play on Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, XP, macOS and mainstream Linux distributions without additional drivers.

Passive aluminium cooling for sustained transfers

The aluminium alloy shell acts as a heatsink, dissipating heat during long continuous read and write sessions to prevent thermal throttling. UASP acceleration on the USB 3.0 link helps maintain higher throughput for large files and 4K video streams compared with the legacy protocol. An integrated LED indicates power and data activity while the drive is in use.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and does the mSATA SSD need to be purchased separately?

The enclosure ships with the aluminum case and USB cable; a full-size 30×50mm mSATA SSD is not included and must be supplied by the user.

Which mSATA SSD form factor is supported by this enclosure?

Only standard full-size 30×50mm mSATA SSDs are supported; M.2 and Mini PCI-E drives will not fit.

What does the 5Gbps USB 3.0 rating mean for real file transfers?

The 5Gbps USB 3.0 interface with UASP acceleration delivers fast large-file and 4K video throughput, limited by the installed mSATA SSD's own SATA speed.
