What this cable does and who it suits
The SMUGDESK USB 4.0 cable carries 40Gbps data, up to 240W power and 8K@60Hz video over a 3.3ft braided USB-C link. It targets users who need one lead for high-speed storage, laptop charging and external monitors without swapping cables.
Behaviour under sustained load
Rated for 5000 bend cycles in lab tests, the sleeved jacket resists wear from daily coiling and uncoiling. The 240W ceiling holds only while both the charger and the device negotiate that level; otherwise the cable reverts to the lower PD tier the pair agrees on.
Practical limits of the USB4 interface
Bandwidth caps at 40Gbps, so a single 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@144Hz stream fits, but adding more displays or higher refresh rates exceeds the pipe. Daisy-chaining up to six Thunderbolt devices works only when every link in the chain supports the same Thunderbolt 3 or 4 standard.

Questions about this item
Does the 40 Gbps cable generate noticeable heat when transferring large files continuously?
The cable is rated for 40 Gbps data transfer and 240 W power delivery; normal operation under load does not produce excessive heat.
What charger and device are required to reach the 240 W charging rate?
A USB Power Delivery charger and a host device that both support 240 W output are needed to achieve the maximum power level.
Will this cable work with my existing Thunderbolt 3 dock and USB 3.2 SSD at full speed?
The cable is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3, USB 4, USB 3.2, USB 3.1 and USB 2.0, so it will operate each device at its own maximum capability.
