SMUGDESK USB 4 cable 40 Gbps 240 W 8K 60 Hz 4 ft

SKU CH-1JQR-P81P3

A 40 Gbps USB cable delivering 240 W charging and 8K 60 Hz video over 4 ft

Cable Length 4 Feet

  • 40 Gbps data transfer cuts large-file wait times
  • 240 W charging powers demanding laptops quickly
  • 8K 60 Hz output drives high-resolution displays
  • Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 3.1 2.0 backward compatibility
  • 4 ft length suits typical desk setups

USB4 cable with 40 Gbps data

This USB4 cable delivers up to 40 Gbps data transfer when both host and device support the speed. It is backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 devices. The four-foot length suits desktop connections between a laptop and a dock or high-speed storage. Buyers needing longer runs for permanent installs should look elsewhere.

240 W charging ceiling

The cable carries up to 240 W (48 V at 5 A) under USB Power Delivery 3.1, so it can charge a large laptop at full speed. Actual power is always limited by the source and sink capabilities. It will not exceed the limits of a 60 W or 100 W charger already on the desk. Users relying on legacy 5 V-only adapters gain no extra current.

8K 60 Hz single or dual 4K

One cable drives a single 8K display at 60 Hz or 5K at 60 Hz. Dual 4K 60 Hz operation requires two cables and a host with sufficient display outputs. The source port must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video to function. Systems without Alt Mode or with only one video pipe cannot use the multi-monitor capability.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 40 Gbps cable or a slower one for 8K video?

Choose the 40 Gbps version; it carries the bandwidth needed for 8K at 60 Hz, while slower cables cannot sustain that resolution.

What does 40 Gbps mean when I plug the cable into my laptop?

It allows up to 40 Gbps data transfer between two 40 Gbps-capable ports, so large files move in seconds instead of minutes.

Which USB standard does the cable use and what does it limit?

The cable follows the USB4 specification, capping data at 40 Gbps and power delivery at 240 W (48 V / 5 A).
