USB-A to USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable for fast charging

This USB-A to USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable delivers data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps and supports 3A fast charging with a 56K pull-up resistor. It is USB-IF certified and designed for devices such as Apple 15, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, tablets and laptops. The 1.6 foot braided cable comes in a two-pack. It does not support video output or Micro and Lightning port devices.

Practical limits of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface

The cable provides a maximum output current of 3A, so it cannot fully charge devices requiring 4.5V/5A or 5V/4A supercharge protocols. Data transfer reaches 1250MB/s when both host and peripheral support the standard. Actual throughput depends on the connected hardware and cable length.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.6-foot or 10-foot length?

The listed item is the 1.6-foot cable in a 2-pack; the 10-foot version is a separate listing.

Will the 10Gbps rating hold up when I move large video files between my laptop and external SSD?

Yes — the cable is USB-IF certified for 10 Gbps (1250 MB/s) data transfer, so large files copy at full speed provided both ports support USB 3.2 Gen 2.
