What this cable does

This SMUGDESK USB A to USB C cable delivers up to 100W of charging power at 20V/7A and transfers data at 480Mbps. The nylon-braided jacket is rated for more than 30000 bend cycles. Each pack contains two cables, each 6.6FT long. The condition is new.

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits owners of phones, tablets, a Switch console or a PS5 controller that charge and sync through a USB-A port. It does not suit buyers who need data rates above 480Mbps or video output over the USB-C connector. It also does not suit anyone who requires a USB-C to USB-C cable for 100W charging from a USB-C power source.

The deciding specification

The cable supports USB 2.0 data speeds of 480Mbps while carrying up to 100W of power over a USB-A to USB-C connection. If your workflow demands faster transfer or display signalling, this is not the right cable.

Questions about this item

Will the 7 A current rating work safely with my older USB-A charger that only delivers 2.4 A?

Yes, the cable negotiates power with the charger, so it will simply draw up to 2.4 A from that adapter without harm.

How can I verify the 480 Mbps transfer speed is active after I plug the cable in?

Check the operating system's USB device tree — it should list the connection as USB 2.0 High-Speed (480 Mbps) rather than Full-Speed (12 Mbps).

What comes in the 2-pack and do I need a separate power adapter?

The box contains two 6.6 ft nylon-braided USB-A to USB-C cables; a USB-A power adapter is not included and must be supplied separately.
