Thunderbolt 4 cable for 8K display

This 1.6 ft Thunderbolt 4 cable delivers 40 Gbps data transfer, 8K@60 Hz video output and 100 W power delivery over a single USB-C to USB-C link. It is built for professionals who connect high-performance SSD enclosures, eGPU docks or dual 4K monitors to a compatible laptop or tablet. The nylon-braided jacket protects the conductors during frequent plug cycles.

Plug-and-play connection with length constraint

Installation is straightforward: insert either USB-C end into the host and the other into the dock, monitor or drive; no driver installation is required on supported operating systems. The 1.6 ft length keeps the desk tidy but can be too short if the host port and peripheral sit far apart, so measure the routing path before relying on this cable for a permanent setup.

Thunderbolt 4 bandwidth and power limits

The 40 Gbps ceiling is shared between data and video, so driving dual 4K@60 Hz displays leaves less throughput for an attached NVMe drive. The cable supports 100 W charging only when both the host and the power source implement USB PD 3.1 EPR; older PD 3.0 or 2.0 ports will negotiate a lower wattage. Passive copper construction means the rated performance is guaranteed only at this 1.6 ft length.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the cable is delivering 40 Gbps transfer speed after setup?

Connect an NVMe SSD enclosure and run a benchmark; sustained reads near 40 Gbps indicate the link is operating at full Thunderbolt 4 performance.

What comes in the box and is a power adapter included?

The package contains only the 1.6 ft nylon-braided USB-C to USB-C cable; a 100 W PD 3.1 charger must be purchased separately to reach the 20 V / 5 A rating.

Should I choose this 1.6 ft length or a longer version for a dual 4K 60 Hz monitor dock?

At 1.6 ft the cable supports dual 4K 60 Hz and 8K 60 Hz video; select a longer Thunderbolt 4 cable only if the extra reach is required for your desk layout.
