What the cable delivers

This USB-IF certified USB4 cable carries 40 Gbps data, 8K video at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz and up to 240 W of power over a 1.5 ft USB-C to USB-C link. It suits anyone who needs full Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth in a short desktop run.

Sustained throughput behaviour

Lab testing confirms the cable withstands 5,000 bends without signal loss, so repeated plugging and routing behind monitors or docks will not degrade the 40 Gbps link. The construction keeps data, video and charging stable during long sessions rather than only in brief bursts.

Interface practical limits

The 1.5 ft length is chosen to meet USB4 40 Gbps electrical requirements; longer passive cables cannot guarantee the same throughput. Buyers who need more reach must accept lower speeds or use active Thunderbolt cables, and devices without USB-C ports cannot use this cable at all.

Questions about this item

Does the 40 Gbps USB4 cable get warm or draw noticeable power during sustained transfers?

The cable is rated for 240 W power delivery and 40 Gbps throughput; it carries high current without active cooling, so any warmth stays within normal passive limits.

What charger and host port are required to reach the 240 W charging rate?

A USB Power Delivery 3.1 source capable of 240 W and a host with a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port that supports Extended Power Range.

Will the cable drive 8K 60 Hz or dual 4K displays from a Thunderbolt 3 laptop?

Thunderbolt 3 hosts are limited to 40 Gbps total bandwidth; they can run one 8K 60 Hz stream or dual 4K, but not both simultaneously.
