Questions about this item

Will this cable charge my older Thunderbolt 3 laptop at full 240W speed?

It is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0, 2.0, but the 240W maximum depends on the device and charger supporting 48V/5A.

How can I verify the 40Gbps data rate is active after connecting my SSD?

Check the link speed in your OS storage utility or run a large file transfer; the cable is rated for 40Gbps when both host and drive support that speed.

Does the 1.6ft braided cable include a power adapter for the 240W charging?

No, the box contains only the USB4 Thunderbolt 4 cable; a 240W-capable charger and a device that accepts 48V/5A must be purchased separately.
