SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK USB4 V2 Type-C Female to Female Coupler 80Gbps PD 240W

SKU CH-D8SH-16A51

Connects two USB-C cables for 80 Gbps data, 240 W charging and 16K video

  • Extends USB-C cables while keeping 80Gbps data speed
  • Delivers up to 240W power for high-demand laptops
  • Carries 16K and 8K video through DP Alt Mode
  • Works with Thunderbolt 5, 4 and 3 devices
  • Smart EMarker chip maintains stable signal across joined cables

High-Speed USB-C Coupler

The SMUGDESK USB4 V2 coupler joins two USB-C cables into a single extended link. It is built for professionals who need longer reach between a host and a dock, eGPU, display or high-speed storage without losing signal quality.

Sustained Signal Integrity

The adapter maintains full 80Gbps throughput under continuous load thanks to its shielded solid shell and integrated EMarker chip. Backward compatibility at 40Gbps, 20Gbps and 10Gbps ensures stable performance even when connected to older cables or ports during long work sessions.

240W Power Delivery Limit

The single specification that decides fit is the 240W PD 3.1 pass-through ceiling. Buyers whose laptops or devices draw more than 240W over USB-C must choose a different solution, as this coupler cannot safely carry higher charging currents.

Questions about this item

Does the coupler get warm or draw extra power when it passes 240 W charging all day?

The coupler is a passive component with an EMarker chip; it does not generate noticeable heat or consume measurable power beyond what the connected cables and devices require.

What cables or devices must I already have for this coupler to work?

You need two USB-C cables with male plugs; the coupler simply joins them and requires no separate power supply or driver.

Will this coupler work with my older Thunderbolt 3 dock and 40 Gbps cables?

Yes, it is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 40 Gbps USB4 links, so existing docks and cables function normally through the coupler.
