A 1.6TB U.2 15mm enterprise SSD with PCIe 4.0 x4, 144L TLC 3D NAND, 5300 MB/s read, 1900 MB/s write, 700000 IOPS random read, 200000 IOPS random write, 8.7 PBW endurance and 2000000-hour MTBF
The Solidigm D7-P5620 delivers 1.6TB of storage built on 144L TLC 3D NAND and a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. It targets servers and storage arrays that need sustained high throughput and low latency. Sequential reads reach 5300 MBps while writes hit 1900 MBps. Random performance reaches 700000 IOPS read and 200000 IOPS write. Endurance is rated at 8.7 PBW with a 2,000,000 hour MTBF.
The drive uses the 15mm U.2 2.5 inch form factor, requiring a compatible backplane or carrier that accepts the thicker z-height. It draws 5W idle and 13W active, so the chassis power budget and cooling must accommodate that load. The 165g weight is standard for the form factor. Shock resistance is rated at 1,000 G at 0.5 msec and vibration tolerance at 2.17 GRMS operating and 3.13 GRMS non-operating, suiting dense rack environments.
Before ordering, confirm the server or array supports U.2 15mm drives and provides the necessary PCIe 4.0 x4 lanes to each bay. Check that the backplane power delivery meets the 13W active draw per slot. Ensure airflow across the drive meets the thermal limits implied by the power figures. Buyers needing a thinner 7mm drive or a different capacity point should look elsewhere.
