Sonic Blast Refill Twin Pack

The Sonic Blast Personal Safety Horn Refill comes as a twin pack of 1 oz cans designed to recharge compatible air horns. Each canister delivers a 120 dB blast audible up to 10 ft. The propellant is trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene and the horn body is metal.

Temperature Limits and Pressure

The refill operates reliably between 65 °F and 75 °F, so storage in extreme heat or cold should be avoided to maintain consistent pressure. No power draw or fan noise is involved because the device is a passive pressurised canister. Normal use produces only the brief 120 dB sound pulse.

Metal Canister and Everyday Carry

Each metal canister measures 2 in high, 3 1/2 in long and 4 7/8 in wide with a net weight of 0.29 lb for the pair. The compact dimensions allow the refills to fit in a glove box, backpack or desk drawer. Buyers who need a refill for a non-Sonic Blast horn or who require a larger capacity canister will not be served by this pack.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Sonic Blast refill can into my horn, and what step do people often miss?

Remove the old can, align the new can's valve with the horn's nozzle, and press firmly until it clicks; the step often missed is verifying the click to ensure a sealed connection.

What maintenance or replacement will the Sonic Blast refill need later?

Each 1 oz can delivers a finite number of 120dB blasts; replace the can once the sound level drops or the propellant is depleted, and store unused cans between 65 and 75 Degrees F.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the Sonic Blast horn?

The propellant trans-1, 3, 3, 3-Tetrafluoroprop-1-ene depletes with each blast, so the 120dB output cannot be maintained once the 1 oz net weight is exhausted.
