Sony ECM-W2BT Wireless Microphone System

SKU CH-26Y0-R7E88

A dual wireless microphone system with omnidirectional capsules and digital MI Shoe transmission for clear, cable-free vlog and interview audio

  • Wireless vlogging freedom with dual mic capture
  • Clear digital audio via MI Shoe interface
  • Omnidirectional pickup from any mic angle
  • Reliable Bluetooth link in crowded RF spaces
  • Up to 9 hours battery-powered recording time

Vlogging Wireless Microphone

The Sony ECM-W2BT is a digital Bluetooth wireless microphone system designed for vlogging and interview recording. It uses a dual receiver and transmitter arrangement that captures both subject and camera operator audio without extra equipment. The omnidirectional capsule picks up sound clearly from any direction, removing the need to aim the microphone precisely.

MI Shoe Installation

The system connects directly to Sony cameras that support the Multi-Interface (MI) Shoe digital audio interface, providing an all-digital signal path that avoids analog cable interference. Pairing is handled over Bluetooth for reliable connectivity even in crowded RF environments. An attenuator switch on the unit lets you reduce loud-source levels or boost quiet sources without menu diving.

Nine-Hour Battery Life

On-board battery combined with camera-supplied power delivers up to nine hours of continuous wireless operation. This runtime covers typical long-form shoots or multiple shorter sessions without recharging. Buyers needing multi-day recording without access to power should plan for external charging or spare units.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the ECM-W2BT is recording correctly after pairing it to my Sony camera?

Check the camera's audio meters for a clean signal without analogue hiss, and listen through headphones for consistent omnidirectional pickup regardless of mic orientation.

What comes in the box and what must I provide separately?

The system includes the transmitter microphone and dual receiver unit; you must supply a Sony camera with a Multi-Interface Shoe supporting the Digital Audio Interface.

Should I choose the ECM-W2BT or a single-channel wireless mic for two-person interviews?

Select the ECM-W2BT because its dual receiver captures both subject and camera operator simultaneously without extra equipment.
