720p 1.3 Megapixel Bullet Camera

The Sony SNC-CH180 is a 720p HD bullet camera built for outdoor surveillance. It delivers 1.3 megapixel resolution at 1280 x 1024 using an Exmor CMOS sensor. The IP66-rated housing protects against dust and heavy water jets. Power over Ethernet simplifies cabling for installers.

View-DR and XDNR under continuous use

View-DR technology expands dynamic range to reveal detail in high-contrast scenes throughout the day. XDNR reduces noise in low light without introducing motion blur during sustained recording. Dual streaming encodes JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 simultaneously at 30 fps. IR illuminators provide clear visibility up to 15 m (49 feet) in total darkness.

PoE installation and CF slot considerations

A single Ethernet cable supplies both power and data, reducing installation time and cost. The built-in CF slot enables on-board recording with RTP/RTCP streaming for backup review. DEPA Advanced analytics support motion detection, tamper alarms and audio triggers. Buyers needing wireless connectivity or local monitor output should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How much power does the Sony SNC-CH180 draw when running 24/7 on PoE?

The camera uses Power over Ethernet, so a single cable supplies both data and power without a separate adapter.

What cabling and network gear do I need to get this bullet camera online?

A Cat5e or better Ethernet run to a PoE switch or injector, plus a router or NVR that accepts ONVIF streams.

Will the SNC-CH180 record to my older analogue DVR over coax?

No, this is an IP camera that streams H.264, MPEG-4 or JPEG over Ethernet; it does not output an analogue video signal.
