HD rapid dome network camera

The Sony SNC-RH164 is a network HD rapid dome camera designed for surveillance applications requiring wide-area coverage. It captures video at 1280 x 720 resolution and 30 fps in a 16:9 aspect ratio using a CMOS sensor. The unit supports H.264, MPEG-4, and JPEG compression formats for flexible recording and streaming.

Suited for wide-area monitoring with PTZ

This camera suits operators needing pan, tilt, and zoom functions with a 180° swivel range for tracking subjects across large spaces. Features such as XDNR and Visibility Enhancer improve clarity in low-light or high-contrast scenes. It is not intended for installations requiring higher resolution sensors or fixed-lens form factors.

HD resolution at 30 frames per second

The defining specification is the 1280 x 720 resolution delivered at 30 fps, which determines the level of detail available for identification and monitoring. Buyers should verify this resolution meets their evidentiary or operational requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

How much power does the SNC-RH164 draw when running continuously?

The camera is powered over the network cable using PoE, so no separate power supply is needed for all-day operation.

What network equipment must I already have to use this camera?

You need a PoE-capable switch or injector and a standard Ethernet cable to provide both data and power.

Will the 180° swivel work with my existing wall-mount brackets?

The rotate-and-lock coupling and supplied screws let you attach the dome to standard mounting surfaces without proprietary brackets.
