Marine Latch 22N Pull-Up Force

This Southco Grabber Catch Latch is a spring-loaded over-centre latch designed for side mounting on marine doors and hatches. The single assembly includes both the catch and keeper, moulded in black PC/ABS for corrosion resistance. It suits boat builders and refitters who need a compact, non-magnetic fastening that operates reliably in salt-spray conditions.

Operating Range -30°C to 60°C

The latch delivers a pull-up force of 22N (5lbf) and is rated to UL94-HB flammability standard across a temperature span of -30°C (-20°F) to 60°C (140°F). It comfortably secures lightweight access panels and battery-box lids, but will not restrain heavy engine-room doors or high-load locker hatches that exceed the rated force.

Minimum Frame Clearance 150 mm

Installation requires the keeper arrow to point toward the cam and a minimum distance of 150 mm (5.9 in) from the mounting surface to the door hinge centreline. No separate strike plate, shims or fasteners are supplied, so installers must source appropriate marine-grade screws and verify the hinge geometry before fitting.
