Poe Splitter for IP Cameras

This SPECO TECHNOLOGIES POESPL unit separates power and data from a single Ethernet cable. It enables non-PoE surveillance cameras to draw power from a compatible network switch or injector. The device supports the 802.3af and 802.3at standards. It simplifies cabling for security installations where AC outlets are unavailable at the camera location.

Installers running cable to fixed cameras

Technicians deploying IP cameras without built-in PoE support will find this splitter practical. It is not suited for installers who need to power high-draw PTZ domes or multi-sensor units that exceed the 802.3at power budget. Buyers whose cameras already include native PoE circuitry do not need this separate module.

802.3af and 802.3at standard compliance

The splitter negotiates power class with the source equipment following these IEEE standards. This single specification determines whether the connected camera receives adequate power for its rated consumption. Verify the camera’s maximum draw against the standard supported by the upstream switch or injector before purchase.

Questions about this item

What PoE standard must my switch or injector support to power this SPECO TECHNOLOGIES POESPL splitter?

The splitter works with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at sources, so any switch or midspan injector compliant with either standard will supply it.

Can I keep using my existing non-PoE IP camera with this splitter?

Yes, the splitter separates data and power from the PoE line, letting you connect a camera that has no PoE capability of its own.

How do I confirm the splitter is passing both data and power correctly after installation?

Verify the camera boots, obtains an IP address and streams video while the splitter's status LEDs show active link and power.
