Portable 2.5GbE Adapter for USB-C Devices

This StarTech USB converter adds a 2.5GbE RJ-45 network port to laptops, MacBooks or Chromebooks that have a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C connector rated at 5Gbps and draws power directly from the host. The compact 15cm dongle suits mobile workers who need a reliable wired link without carrying a bulky dock.

Single-Cable Connectivity With 100W Pass-Through

A built-in 100W Power Delivery pass-through port lets you attach a USB-C charger to the same adapter, so the host charges while the network link is active. This frees the remaining USB-C ports on devices that only offer one or two connections. The adapter auto-negotiates at 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps, 100Mbps or 10Mbps over existing Cat 5e cabling, avoiding a cable upgrade.

Ideal for Thin-and-Light Notebooks.

The plug-and-play design auto-installs on Windows 7 and later, Linux kernel 4.19+, macOS, iOS and ChromeOS, covering Intel, AMD, ARM and Apple Silicon platforms. Buyers who need multiple Ethernet ports, link aggregation or a permanent desktop NIC with wake-on-LAN should consider a dedicated PCIe card or multi-port dock instead.
