30 ft 8K HDMI cable for long runs

This 30 ft hybrid active optical cable carries HDMI 2.1 signals up to 9.1 m without external power. It is suited for installers and integrators routing 8K video through walls or conduit where copper cables would lose signal integrity.

48 Gbps bandwidth and plenum rating

The link supports 48 Gbps using forward error correction and display stream compression 1.2a to maintain data integrity over distance. A CMP plenum jacket meets fire-safety codes for in-wall and ceiling installations.

8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz with eARC audio

The cable delivers 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz with HDR10+ 12-bit colour and HDCP 2.3 protection. Enhanced audio return channel passes uncompressed 7.1 and 32-channel audio, so soundbars and AV receivers receive full-bitstream soundtracks without a separate audio run.

Questions about this item

Which length of the StarTech 8K active optical HDMI cable should I choose for a 30 ft run?

The 30 ft (9.1 m) model is built for that exact distance; the hybrid active optical design maintains full 48 Gbps bandwidth without the signal loss that copper cables suffer at this length.

What does the 48 Gbps rating mean when I connect an 8K display?

It carries the full HDMI 2.1 data rate needed for 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz with HDR10+ and 12-bit colour, so the panel receives every frame uncompressed.

How does the HDMI 2.1 interface cap performance on this cable?

The cable is certified to the 48 Gbps limit of the HDMI 2.1 spec, enabling 8K 60 Hz, 4K 120 Hz, eARC 7.1/32-channel audio, DSC 1.2a and HDCP 2.3 all at once.
